Important Lessons

Last week, Antonio's preschool had some firefighters visit (visiting special-topic instructors seem to be a regular thing... i really need to scan in the picture of the tooth-fairy visiting). In prep for the firefighter visit, the teachers taught the kids about "STOP! DROP! ROLL!"

Antonio hasn't quite grasped the order in which these things must happen, but he knows which order to say them. He also makes these kung-fu motions with his hands for emphasis, along with a double-eyebrow raise that even Dwayne Johnson would envy. He couldn't stop, for a few days, telling us that we needed to do this.

Yesterday, after voluntarily cleaning up his room and getting ready for bed, he walks out of the bathroom with a towel draped over his head, and declares "this is how we get ready for fire."

I can only assume one of the lessons about how to escape a fiery death from your irresponsible parents' flaming house was to cover one's head with a towel (ideally damp). Retaining it almost a week later impresses me, and gives me even more confidence in his ability to survive the foolishness of his parents.
