Antonio really enjoyed the past weekend. So much so that he's really begun to walk in earnest now. He also imitates noises that other people make: Uncle Scott does a mean Donald Duck voice, and Antonio seems determined to duplicate it. It currently comes out as a frog-throated noise, but it definitely differs from his normal babble.

Walking range: 4 ft
Walking speed: .27 mph
Crawling range: unlimited
Crawling speed: .56 mph
No wonder he's choosing to still crawl.
Of course, his speed while using a host is much better, in addition to being better in terms of bio-energetics.

happy birthday!
Antonio's first birthday was sunday, and i thought now would be a good time to start posting updates for those curious about how things are going with him. I did a teeny tiny bit of this over at livejournal, but livejournal has become too painful (relatively) to use.
The first year of Antonio's life has flown by, and there never seemed time for anything other than dealing with necessities. Dirty diapers and hungry baby trumps just about anything, and that certainly includes journalling. I'm not sure how dooce did (and continues to do) it.
Posts here almost certainly won't be daily, but they will likely be weekly.
Antonio's contribution is currently limited to looking up at the typist and bopping up and down to the beat of whatever electronic toy he happens to have in his hands at the time.
